Community Education Funding:

Did you know that Community Education is a Boise School District sponsored program with a long-term goal set by the district of becoming self-sustaining from a financial standpoint? We’re proud to say that with the support of volunteers like you, our program is gaining ground on meeting this goal with each continuing session. During the 2008-2009 school year,, our program was over 75% self-sustaining. We hope to top the 85% mark in the 2009-2010 school year. The budget for Community Education covers staff, publishing costs for our three catalogs, postage for our mailings, and the administrative overhead for running the program.

Course Fees:

In order to become a self-sustaining organization, we charge our students fees for our classes and utilize volunteer instructors. The fees for students are $7.50 per instructional hour with a $45.00 per course maximum. Instructors can offer to teach a one-night or multi-night class; we do ask that students get a minimum of 2 hours of instruction. To cover instructor expenses for ingredients or materials we can add a "materials' fee to cover any out-of-pocket expenses. We then add that cost to the price of the class.
