AGE
- The course is available to persons between the
ages of 14 ½ and 21 inclusive.
- STUDENTS MUST BE AT
LEAST 14 ½ YEARS OF AGE BY May 31, 2011 TO
BE ADMITTED INTO THE FIRST SESSION
- STUDENTS MUST BE AT LEAST
14 ½ YEARS OF AGE BY June 30, 2011 TO BE ADMITTED
INTO THE SECOND SESSION.
DATES
- FIRST SESSION - First day of class (classroom
only) is Monday, June 6th. Class and driving resumes
on Tuesday, June 7th including one Saturday June
11th and will continue Monday through Friday thereafter
until the course ends on Friday, July 1st which is
a driving day only.
- SECOND SESSION - First day of class (classroom
only) is Tuesday, July 5th. Class and driving
resumes on Wednesday, July 6th and will continue
Monday through Friday until the course ends on Tuesday,
August 2nd.
LOCATION
All classes will be held at White Pine Elementary,
401 E. Linden St (beside Timberline High School).
SCHEDULE
Classroom and Driving Instruction are in 3 hour blocks
7am-10am, 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm. Classroom instruction
is held 1½ hours daily Monday through Friday.
Driving time is scheduled for 1½ hours three
days per week. The Class Time group letter
and the Driving Time group letter must match.

REGISTRATION
Registration packets may be picked up at the student's
school or printed from the link at the bottom of this
page. The registration form must be completely filled
out and signed.
Mail the completed application and PAYMENT to
Boise School's Driver Education, 3555 N. Milwaukee
Boise, ID 83704. There are only 30 spots per
class, and these classes will be filled on first come
first served basis. Early registration is recommended.
REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION
Confirmation of registration is
available and will be updated frequently. Students
are listed
by first name, first letter of last name and date
of birth provided on the enrollment form.
COSTS
All students will be charged $220.00 to take Driver
Education. The fee must be attached to the enrollment
form. This fee can be paid with check, money order,
cash, credit card, or debit card. Checks or money orders
are to be made out to BOISE PUBLIC SCHOOLS and must indicate
the name of the student. Only one check or money order
per student, please. All checks must have pre-printed
name, address, and telephone number on them. Money
orders must have the name, address, and telephone number
of the payor on them. Checks returned to the District
for non-sufficient funds or closed accounts will result
in loss of class slot and/or enrollment. A $30.00
per hour make up fee will be charged for any
missed classroom or driving time.
The cost of the Driver Education Permit is $21.50.
This fee will be paid directly to the Ada County Driver's
License Department at 400 N. Benjamin. This
fee is non-refundable. They will give the
eye test, collect the fee and issue the receipt for
the Driver Education permit. Checks for the permit
should be made payable to ADA COUNTY SHERIFF.
PERMITS
First Session students must have permits purchased
no later than May 31st. Second Session students must
have permits purchased no later than June 30th. The
DMV will be open late for your convenience on May
3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
We strongly suggest that permits be purchased on one
of the above
dates set aside for Boise School District Driver Education
students. However, permits may be purchased during
regular business hours on any day.
ITEMS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A PERMIT
- TO PROVE DATE OF BIRTH, EACH STUDENT MUST PRESENT:
AN ORIGINAL, CERTIFIED BIRTH CERTIFICATE AT
THE TIME THE PERMIT IS PURCHASED.
- PHOTO IDENTIFICATION (student activity card, military
ID, or passport)
- LETTER OF VERIFICATION (Obtained
from the office at your child’s school BEFORE
SCHOOL IS DISMISSED FOR THE SUMMER) A student applying
for a driver education permit must provide written
verification to the Ada County License Examiner from
his/her school , that he/she is enrolled in school
and meets the school’s attendance requirements.
Home schooled students will require an affidavit
which must be signed by their parents.
- SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS will be required for the
issuance of a driver education permit.
- The student and a legal parent must
both go get the permit because both will have to
sign for the permit.
- Students are required to take and pass a vision
test to receive a permit.
REFUNDS
Students who wish to cancel from either session of
Driver Education after the assignments have been
made, must contact the Driver Education office, phone
number 854-6370. If this is done prior to
3:00 pm May 6, 100% of the registration
fee will be refunded. If they contact the Driver
Education office prior
to 3:00 pm May 20, they will receive 50%
of the registration fee back. AFTER MAY 20,
NO REFUND WILL BE MADE.
