Food & Nutrition ServicesFree & Reduced Meals
Free and Reduced-Price Meal applications are used to determine if your family qualifies for free or reduced-price meal benefits. All applications from the previous year expire on October 5. A new Family Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals is available online, at your school and the District Services Center (DSC) front desk, 8169 W Victory Road. Applications may be submitted at any time during the school year. Completed applications are processed within ten days of receipt at the DSC. Once processed, you will be notified via mail whether or not you qualify for meal benefits. All information on the application is kept confidential. The online process reduces the potential for errors on the application and therefore reduces processing time. We encourage families completing the application to try this service, also available in Spanish. If choosing to complete the written application, please note that photocopied, faxed or incomplete forms cannot be accepted and may result in a delay in free or reduced-price meal benefits. To minimize delays with the paper application: Note: Students who qualify for food stamps and foster children qualify for free meals without completing an application. Food & Nutrition Services received Direct Certification information electronically. To assure your student receives the benefit, the student's name in Boise School District's database (Infinite Campus) must match exactly the one used for food stamps. If you have any questions, please contact the Food & Nutrition Services office at 854-4089. |
