Susan Nickel, Teacher Librarian
This is Susan Nickel’s fifth year at Capital, and she
enjoys working with the wonderful students, faculty, staff
and parents
of the Capital high learning community. Ms. Nickel is co-advisor
to National Honor Society.
Ms. Nickel grew up in Montana and attended Montana State
University where she earned a B.S. in Home Economics with a
minor in Library
Science. She spent the first 8 years of her teaching career
in rural Montana education as a consumer and family sciences/junior
high science teacher and a K-12 library media specialist. In the late 80’s Ms. Nickel was ready for a new adventure.
She moved to Washington where she was a junior high teacher librarian
in the Kent School District. In 1996 she earned her M.Ed. in
Educational Technology at City University. In 2003 Ms. Nickel
earned her National Board for Professional Teaching Standards
certification.
Ms. Nickel enjoys golfing, bicycling, hiking, traveling,
and cooking. Reading, gardening, and textile crafts are her
other
passions. Her family is very important to her. Clarisse Tate, Library Assistant
This is Clarisse’s 15th year working as a library assistant
in the Boise School Dist. and her 4th year at Capital. She has
enjoyed her time here, making new friends and meeting the great
staff and students that attend our school. Clarisse has been
married 32 years and has four children and eight grandchildren,
all of whom live locally. She enjoys traveling, reading, needlework
and teaching cooking classes. She also loves spending time with
her family playing games, camping and just hanging out playing
the Wii or Rock Band. She is almost finished writing her first
book and hopes to submit it to a publisher by the first of the
year.
Roberta Hurtt, Library Assistant
Roberta Hurtt is married, a mother of two
sons, and a grandmother of one grandson,
and one granddaughter. She enjoys spending
time with her family, reading, scrapbooking, and traveling.
She is
a long time Boise resident and enjoys the area. |
