Fairmont Families PTO Organization at Fairmont Junior High
is a group of parent volunteers who strive to help the teachers,
students, and other staff have a fun and enriching experience
at Fairmont Junior High. Each year we organize a fundraiser
in order to raise money to purchase items for the classrooms,
students, and teachers. These are items suggested by teachers
to help add value and enrichment to our children's educations.
We help the school by providing volunteers as needed for
various functions such as ISAT testing, representing our school
on the Parent Advisory Committee and the Leadership Committee.
We operate a concession stand at the home basketball, volleyball,
and wrestling matches. We are always in need of parent volunteers
to run the concession stand on game days!
In addition to providing teachers with needed items for classrooms,
the money we raise also goes towards appreciating our teachers
and staff during teacher appreciation week with a breakfast
on Monday morning to kick off the week and a sit down lunch
on Friday.
We help fund the annual year end event for students, "Fun
in the Sun." This is a day full of fun and games. The
school puts on a picnic style lunch and we set up inflatables
and games for the students outside.
And finally, we throw a farewell party/yearbook signing party
for our 9th graders with food and drinks!
Fairmont Families officers for the 2009/2010 school year are: President,
Vice President, Concessions Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator,
7th Grade Volunteer Coordinator.
We always need parent help to run the concession stand at
home games, also at "Fun in the Sun" in June and the 9th Grade
Party.
For more information please contact Joanne Wilcox, Fairmont
Families President, by calling the school at 854.4790.
