Boise School District Social Worker
Scott Crandell, LMSW
It is my privilege and passion to provide social
work services and support, as a Community Resource Worker, to families
in the Boise School District. I firmly believe that all children have
the ability to be successful in school with adequate support and
resources. When requested, I have the ability to provide support to
families who are experiencing some sort of trauma, crisis or
instability that impacts their childrens' ability to learn.
Schools:
- Garfield Elementary - (208) 854-4950
- Madison Early Childhood Center - (208) 854-5520
- Pierce Park Elementary - (208) 854-5880
- Shadow Hills Elementary - (208) 854-6060
- William Howard Taft Elementary - (208) 854-6216
Practice areas: The
Community Resources for Families program is voluntary and designed to
assist elementary school children and their families with emergency
needs. As a Community Resource Worker, I join with families to develop
a family-centered plan for stability. This plan can benefit the whole
family and focuses on family strengths that are utilized to support
identified goals. My social work services are responsive, respectful,
culturally sensitive and appropriate. Referrals to my program can be
made by teachers, nurses, school psychologists, counselors, principals,
community partners and family members.
Educational background and experience: I
earned my Bachelor and Master degrees in social work from Boise State
University. At the present time, I am a Licensed Master Social Worker
in the State of Idaho and hold my Pupil Personnel Services Certificate
as a School Social Work by the Idaho State Department of Education. In
November of 1996, I was hired as a Community Resource Social Worker
with the Boise School District and have thoroughly enjoyed serving our
students and their families.
