The Hawthorne Elementary School
counseling program is designed to meet the needs
of all of the children from pre-K to 6th grade. I
am so very fortunate to work in a building with
such a fabulous group of caring adults and
hardworking students. I thoroughly enjoy my job
each day providing counseling support to children
and parents through classroom lessons, individual
and group sessions and parenting classes.
Focus areas:
Classroom
lessons to help students develop empathy,
communication, and problem solving skills.
Groups to
assist students in improving academics, adjust to
changes in their lives, or get along with others
better.
Individual
sessions to help students adjust to
school or deal with specific problems they are
experiencing.
Educational
classes for parents interested in
learning new skills to implement with their
child(ren).
Conferences
with parents to learn about their child’s progress
in school or to assist with family issues.Focus

Sara Wright
Hello, I am the counselor at Hawthorne Elementary
School. I have worked in the Boise School District
since 1994. I enjoy working with kids and I am
thrilled to be at Hawthorne. I have two masters
degrees; both in counseling and education.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time
with my husband and three sons. I am an avid
runner and also like hiking, skiing, and baking.
