From the School Nurse:
My name is Kathleen Haynes. I am the School Nurse for Hillside
Jr. High and Marian Pritchett School at Salvation Army Booth.
Most of my time is spent at Hillside but on Wednesday mornings
I am at Marian Pritchett. I have been a School Nurse for the
Boise School District since 1994.
If your student needs to take medication at school or has
any special health needs at school, please contact me.
Medication Policy: Authorization is required
for any medication to be dispensed at school. Students are
not allowed to keep medication in their lockers or backpacks.
All medication must arrive in school in the original bottle
with current directions for administration. Inhalers for students
with asthma may be carried by the student when completed paperwork
and an authorization form is on file.
A small supply of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen is kept in my
office. This will only be dispensed with permission over the
phone on a one time basis. Any further doses require written
authorization and the student will be asked to supply his own
medication for more frequent needs.
PE: PE physicals are required for 7th grade
students and 8th grade students who are new to the Boise District.
Additional physicals are required in 9th and 11th grade for
students who participate in school sports.
Puberty classes are taught each semester for students in
7th grade with boys and girls taught separately. Scoliosis
Screening is completed in PE each semester for 7th grade girls
and 8th grade boys.
Please notify the office if your phone numbers for contact
change so that we can reach you quickly if the need arises.
Please feel free to contact me about any health concerns.
Thank you,
Kathleen Haynes, RN, BSN, NCSN
