Welcome to our school...
The Madison Early Childhood Center,
a cooperative effort between the Boise School
District's Early Childhood Special Education
Program and Friends of Children and
Families Inc, Early Head Start/ Head Start,
opened in the fall of 2004.
Collaboration between the Boise School District
and Head Start programs will help ensure that all
children have the services they need to be
successful in school.
Early Childhood Special Education
classrooms in our school provide services to
developmentally disabled preschool children
between the ages of 3 and 5 and support to their
families. Our goal is to better prepare our
students for school and reduce the need for
special education services once they begin
kindergarten or first grade.
The Friends of Children and Families Inc. is a
local non-profit organization providing Head Start
and Early Head Start services in Ada and Elmore
counties. The Head Start classrooms
at Madison provide comprehensive developmental
services for low-income, pre-school children,
focusing on education, socio-emotional
development, physical and mental health, and
nutrition.
The Center has morning and afternoon sessions in
2 Early Childhood Special Education classrooms and
2 Head Start classrooms. Classes are in session
Tuesday - Friday.
Enrollment at Madison is by referral. Please
visit our How to Apply
page for further information.
