We are here for your kids and will do anything
we can to help make their school years a rewarding, positive
experience!
Schedule:
Michelle Montoya - Full Time
Laura Adams - Tuesdays only
Focus areas:
- Classroom guidance: We teach 14-16 classroom lessons in
every classroom throughout the school year.
- Small groups: We offer a variety of groups throughout the
year. They may include study skills, friendship, anger management,
family changes & anxiety.
- Individual work with students: We often work with individual
students that are referred by their classroom teachers, parents
or who self refer for assistance with school or person issues.
- Parent/staff consultation: We regularly work with parents
who have concerns about their child’s progress (academic
or social), home issues, and a host of other concerns. We
will be glad to talk with you and assist you with anything
that we can. Michelle Montoya is our school’s
liaison for homeless education and resources for families
that are struggling.
- Other: We meet with new students in grades 1-6 to get to
know them. We display their picture and first names
on a special bulletin board near our lunchroom. Being
new is difficult and we want every student to feel especially
welcomed so we provide a bag of goodies for our “NU2U” students!
