| What was the experiment? | Phase 1: During the
fall 1999, students tried to test their prediction thatthe trout could
live in the stream near Riverglen. The Idaho Fish and Game donated
11 trout and a live trap to keep the fish in the stream. Students
monitored them every day to determine if they could survive in the stream.
Phase 2: During the Spring of 2000, Life Science students were able to raise rainbow trout from eggs with the help of the Idaho Fish & Game Department and Idaho Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Students tested the water quality of the stream to determine if we could release the young trout into the stream. Phase 3: During the
2000-2001 school year, Life Science students will continue to raise trout
in the classroom and test the water quality of the stream. Each semester,
students will decide if we will release the trout they've raised into the
Boise River or the nearby stream.
