Birthday
Club
This is a wonderful way to celebrate your child’s
birthday, while at the same time, adding to the
inventory of wonderful books available in the
Riverside School Library.
Here is how the Birthday Club works:
- All books must be purchased in hard
cover. All books may be purchased at local
bookstores.
- If you would like to purchase a books in
honor of your child’s birthday, you may donate
it to Riverside Library.
- Once the book is received at the library, a
"book plate" will be adhered to the inside cover
with your child’s name, and the date it was
donated.
- The week of your child’s birthday when their
class visits the library, the librarian will
present the book and honor your child’s birthday
in front of their class. The child will be able
to be the first student to check that book out.
- If your child has a summer birthday parents
may want to honor them at another time during
the school year. For example, on their "1/2
birthday", in March for "Read Across America",
during National Library Week in April, or in May
for Children's Book Week.
What a wonderful way to honor our children and to
celebrate reading. Your support of this program
will help make Riverside School Library an even
better resource for our students.
