Welcome to the Shadow Hills Elementary Counseling Office web
page! We hope you will find this information useful, but if
you come away with any questions, please feel free to contact
us.
Schedule: Kim Erwin - Serving Grades K -
4
Sandy Rumpel - Serving Grades 5 & 6
Focus areas:
- Classroom guidance: Beginning the second or third week
of school, we will be in your child’s classroom every
other week for the entire year delivering the district’s
classroom guidance curriculum. If you ever have questions
about the curriculum or would like to see it, please feel
free to contact us.
- Small groups: Small groups will be offered each semester
to help students gain skills and deal with issues they may
be facing. Groups may include but are not limited to: changing
families, stress/worry management, anger management, friendship,
and grief. If you feel your student would benefit from one
of these small groups, please contact us at the school.
- Individual work with students: We can see students one
on one for issues on a short-term basis only. If your child
is having difficulties that are beyond our realm, we are
happy to provide you with referrals to community counselors.
Students are free to see us any time, and if we see your
child three time s or more for the same issue, we will contact
you to let you know.
- Parent education: Parent education classes are offered
each semester by the district. Watch for flyers to come home
with your student.
- Mentoring: We are in the process of developing a mentoring
program for the students of Shadow Hills. Watch for updates.

two large dogs, two cats, and a large yard to contain them
all. In my “spare time” I enjoy reading and doing
digital scrapbooking.
