Shadow Hills Elementary opened for students for the first time on August 11, 1997. It began the year with approximately 500 students and finished the year with 534 students. It is located in northwest Boise and serves students from Kindergarten through Sixth grade.

Besides the full range of services that are offered at all Boise elementary schools, Shadow Hills has an on site day care, Just for Kids, available year around for all Kindergarten through Sixth grade students.

The school has an active PTO organization which provides generous support for students and staff members. A parent volunteer coordinator provides leadership for the many volunteers who donate their time and energy.
