Welcome
to the guidance and counseling program at Washington School.
Included on this page are descriptions of the services provided
by Washington’s part-time counselor, Katrina Bradbury.
Please contact me if you have any questions about this program.
Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Focus areas:
- Classroom guidance: As counselors, we teach guidance
lessons to all students in grades K-6. These include lessons
in three domains: Academics, Personal/Social, and Safety.
- Small
groups: These are offered to students who may be facing a
challenging situation, e.g. parents’ divorce,
developing friendship skills, etc. Referrals for group
come from teachers, parents, and/or students themselves.
- Individual
work with students: We see students on an individual basis
if they need assistance in sorting out a concern
related to home or school. Again, these referrals may
come from a parent, teacher, or student.
- Parent/staff consultation:
We serve as consultants to parents, teachers, administrators,
and community agencies.
- Other: As a staff member at Washington
School, I also serve on various committees and teams; e.g.,
Multi-Disciplinary,
Student Services, School Safety, etc.
