Secondary Science

Students

The secondary science courses reinforce and build upon the concepts introduced at the elementary level. The District has a general program of study which include Life (7), Earth (8), Physical Science (9), and Biology courses. There are also several top notch electives to choose from during the junior and senior years. Students who qualify may accelerate their science sequence by taking two courses, such as Life and Earth in grade seven or Earth and Physical in grade eight. Biology would follow in the ninth grade. The advantage to this program is seen at the Senior High where students have the opportunity to take advanced electives. All science courses contain a laboratory component. Benchmarks help guide our instruction and mission - Science Literacy for All Students.
